Not content with two critically acclaimed shows and a role in one of the year’s biggest films, Phoebe Waller-Bridge has added a new project to her slate.
Variety reports that she’s teamed up once again with her Fleabag director Vicky Jones, this time for a comedy called Run that’s just been picked up as a pilot by HBO.
In line with her other genre-busting shows, it’s billed as a “romantic-comedic-thriller,” and tells the story of two former lovers who attempt to make good on a pact they made years ago, namely to drop everything and disappear together if one of them ever sent a specific, one-word message: RUN.
Okay, so we can see how that could be both romantic, thrilling, and very, very funny indeed. Vicky is on writing and directing duties, while Phoebe plays a recurring character called Flick.
It’s the latest in a long line of high-profile projects for Phoebe. Her new BBC AMERICA show Killing Eve has debuted to rave reviews and has already been renewed for a second season, she’s also set to appear in Solo: A Star Wars Story as a droid called L3-37, and is working on a second season of Fleabag.
