Rejoice! Doctor Who co-stars David Tennant and Catherine Tate are set to reunite for a new TV comedy called Americons.
The tenth Doctor and Donna Noble will play a British couple who move to America, according to Deadline — a premise that should guarantee the show makes it over to the U.S., after it airs in the U.K. on Sky One. We don’t know much more about the show but we are getting a slight Episodes vibe.
It’s not the first time the pair have worked together since wrapping on “The End of Time” in 2009. In 2011, they played bickering lovers Benedick and Beatrice on stage in Much Ado About Nothing, while the recent reboot of Disney animation series DuckTales sees David voice Scrooge McDuck, and Catherine the villainous sorceress Magica De Spell.
Catherine will reportedly write the new series as well as star in it, proving what we already know — that she’s a woman of many talents.
It’s being made by the appropriately named Bad Wolf, the Cardiff-based production company behind the upcoming adaptations of The Discovery of Witches and His Dark Materials.
Look out for Americons some time next year.
