WATCH: James Corden and Dominic Cooper Test Their Friendship with Electric Shocks

Hijinks abound whenever Dominic Cooper joins James Corden on The Late Late Show, and last night’s episode (July 23) was no exception.

The two former roommates have known each other since 2004, when they starred together in The History Boys, and have forged a friendship so strong that Dominic was named godfather to James’s first son.

Both their careers have skyrocketed since the Alan Bennett play that made their names. Dominic has taken lead roles in shows such as Fleming and Preacher, while James not only moved to L.A. to host his own late-night chat show, he’s halfway to bagging an EGOT. Not bad for a couple of lads who, back in their cohabiting days, owned a single kitchen utensil.

Dominic was back on James’s couch last night (July 23) to promote Mamma Mia 2: Here We Go Again, in which he plays Sky — his role from the original 2008 movie. Except “here we go again” could just as well refer to the two boys, who immediately reverted back to their old roommate ways despite having a show to do.

As fellow guest Rebecca Ferguson adjudicated, Dominic and James were asked trickier and trickier questions about the other. So far, so good. That shouldn’t be a problem for two guys who once shared a bathroom. There was just one catch: If one of them got a question wrong, then the other could electrocute them.

Hmm. What could possibly go wrong?

Anyone else want to see more of these two?
