Talk about an understatement! In a behind-the-scenes teaser for the next season of X-Files released yesterday (December 21), series creator Chris Carter admits there were some “big questions that needed answering” at the end of last season.
He can say that again. Fans were left in the lurch when the credits rolled on the final episode, just as a spaceship set its beam on Scully (Gillian Anderson) while Mulder (David Duchovny) watches from a car.
Hrrnng. Since then we’ve had to wait nearly two years to find out what happened to our favorite FBI special agents, but the wait is almost over, as season 11 finally starts airing in the new year.
The signs are promising, too, what with the new season being made up of 10 episodes rather than just the six of season 10. The trailer released in October also included a few intriguing details, including the return of a few key characters, as Mulder and Scully’s son becomes the investigation’s focal point.
That hasn’t stopped some fans being worried about the new season, however. Will it answer all the questions we have? And will it finally start wrapping up the show’s remaining storylines, just as the revival promised?
This behind-the-scenes featurette seems designed to put those fears to rest. Take a look and see what you think:
Season 11 of The X-Files starts on Fox on January 3, 2018.
