Well, this is a bad start to Valentine’s week: We’re afraid to report that Idris Elba is off the market.
According to the Twitter account of a theater screening his directorial debut Yardie in London on Saturday (February 10), Idris was on hand to introduce the film, before going down on one knee in front of the packed theater. His intended is Sabrina Dhowre, a model he met last year while filming The Mountain Between Us with Kate Winslet.
Another @riocinema first! Still 5 days to Valentines Day but @idriselba went down on one knee and proposed to his girlfriend live on stage this morning before a preview of his film #Yardie pic.twitter.com/XRtca1xcv0

Noooooooo! Say it ain’t so, etc.
The screening had special significance for Idris, given that it took place in east London, a stone’s throw from where he was born and grew up. It’s also just a few days before Valentine’s Day, proving he’s a big softie under those hard man roles he often plays.
“Falling in love while making a movie about falling in love is pretty special,” the actor told People magazine in September.
The proposal itself wasn’t caught on camera, but this video by a member of the audience captures what happened as soon as Sabrina (unsurprisingly) said “yes:”
Love wins, indeed. Congratulations to the happy couple.
Are you happy for Idris?
