It had to happen. James Corden has been driving around L.A. singing along to pop songs for three years now, and the city’s police force has finally gotten involved.
A deputy from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department pulled up alongside James’s car as he belted out “She Will Be Loved” with Maroon 5 singer Adam Levine.
“Oh my God,” said a terrified James as he pulled over. “This is a real first.”
The pair had nothing to fear, however, as the officer explained he needed to pull them over “so you can sing for me,” before adding that James was “causing a traffic hazard.” Watch:
Clearly the shock of being pulled over didn’t last long. James and Adam went on to sing more Maroon 5 hits like “Sugar” and “Moves Like Jagger,” before putting their driving skills to the test at the race track, “Star in a Reasonably Priced Car”-style. James proceeded to demonstrate why he very definitely shouldn’t give up his day job, while Adam joyfully terrified the chat show host with his speedy maneuvers.
The boys go back a few years, since both starred in Begin Again, a 2013 comedy-drama by Sing Street‘s John Carney. Adam played a successful rock star (not much of a stretch, then), while James played Keira Knightley‘s best friend. Here they are in the trailer.
We’re confident their friendship will survive this clash with L.A.’s finest and a competitive turn at the track.
Are you glad to see law enforcement finally getting involved?
