Netflix is continuing to tease us with first look photos of its brand new cast, as filming gets underway on season three of The Crown.

Just days after sneaking us a look at Olivia Colman as the Queen, the streaming service has released a photo of Helena Bonham Carter as her sister Princess Margaret.

Unless you’ve been hiding under a rock (or crown jewel?) for the last six months, you’ll know that she’s taking over from Vanessa Kirby. The Mission: Impossible star made such an impact playing the role in seasons one and two that we’ve actually started to forget what the real princess looked like.

Helena herself expressed some trepidation when her casting was announced, saying “I’m not sure which I’m more terrified about — doing justice to the real Princess Margaret or following in the shoes of Vanessa Kirby. The only thing I can guarantee is that I’ll be shorter than Vanessa.”

From the looks of the photo released yesterday (July 18), and specifically Helena’s winged eyeliner and her light grip on her cigarette holder, we’d say she’s got it down pat.

The photo also features a one-word caption, just as the picture of Olivia taking tea as the Queen was titled “Patience.” Could “hope” refer to the Margaret’s eight-year affair with Roddy Llewellyn as her marriage to Antony Armstrong-Jones was breaking down? That’s certainly expected to be covered in the next two seasons of the show.

The caption for the first look photo of Ben Daniels as her husband Lord Snowden also hints at this theme:

What single word captions will the rest of the new cast get? Watch this space because we’re keeping a beady eye out for snaps of Tobias Menzies as Prince Philip (following a stellar performance by Matt Smith), Jason Watkins as former Prime Minister Harold WilsonJosh O’Connor as Prince Charles, and Erin Doherty as Princess Anne.

Which words do you think will describe their characters as The Crown enters the 1960s?
