We may have longer to wait until James Bond hits the big screen again, but another secret service has stepped in to fill the gap in the meantime.

Deadline reports a second Kingsman sequel has been greenlit, with Matthew Vaughn returning as co-writer and director. Reportedly he has been working on a script for Kingsman 3 for a while now with Jane Goldman, who co-wrote the original with him.

It will open November 8, 2019, the date originally set aside for Bond 25, until a last-minute change in directors delayed production. (True Detective director Cary Fukunaga will now helm Bond’s 25th outing, instead of Danny Boyle.)

Thank heavens for the Kingsman, is all we can say. The new movie will follow Kingsman: The Secret Service (2015) and Kingsman: The Golden Circle (2017), which starred Taron Egerton in the role of Gary “Eggsy” Unwin, the London teen recruited into a shadowy secret society of spies by Colin Firth, as well as Channing Tatum, Halle Berry and Jeff Bridges as their U.S. counterpart “Statesman.”

There’s no word yet on how many — if any — of the previous cast will appear in the new outing, or if the action will stay stateside or return to the U.K.

It won’t be long until we find out, however, filming would have to start very soon for the movie to be ready for its release date.

Kingsman 3 will open on November 8, 2019, with Bond 25 following on February 14, 2020.

Are you happy to see the return of Harry Hart and co.?
